NBD: Moots Vamoots CR ...and... Moots Psychlo X Titanium Cyclocross

Speaking of "Guaranteed Not Made With Reynolds 531"...

Picked up a Moots Vamoots CR from the same seller (Essam) who sold me the Sampson.

It's a 2015 with a headset extension.

Moots has always been one of those grail builders for me, and I think this one might be a keeper.

I think the Sampson might be a catch and release...either that or a nicely stout Specialized. I was going to dedicate the Specialized to trainer duty, but I've got a modest amount into both, and I'm not sure which will be the keeper.

In the meantime, I'm pretty excited about the Vamoots.

Not sure whether it's going to get Record 10 Compact or Record 12.

Sizing is good, and it will take 28mm tires. Maybe 30...we'll see.

Decisions, decisions.

Busy week for the credit card. Will help me reach Mosaic again.

This one just popped up on the small bikes classified thread. It's a stock 2011.

Complete parts group and wheelset will be available in two weeks.

I'm going with a 1x12 Campy frankenbuild.

...hope those Shimano decals come off cleanly... (I'd go 2x but that top pull is problematic!)

Gonna have to thin the herd. The Prestige CX and the Samson will both have to go...

The Psychlo X RSL frame/ENVE fork/King HS built into a beast of a roller which went to the top of my fav list. And out of a sizable stable of things to ride, it rose very close the the top immediately.

Thanks to mistermo for the release.

I went 1x myself...

Thanks!

I'm going to swap *everything*.

Toying with the idea of going with mechanical disk in the front, CX 8.4 in the rear...but that of course would involve swapping forks and getting a non matching front wheel...

Getting a cantilever Psychlo frame/fork has been at the top of my wish list for several years... in that time I have looked on ebay a few times per week. Finding one in size 54 or so hasn't happened in that time frame. Sad!

Thanks...I'm looking forward to building both of them up.

Both will get Record 12 builds...I've got two complete groups that have been waiting for the right frames

The Vamoots will get Eurus wheels, while the Psychlo will get a set of Record hubs with tubeless rim brake rims I had built last year for the Blue Ridge. I guess that one's going back to "regular" clincher wheels... Wide tubeless rim brake wheels with Campy hubs aren't that common!

Thanks Robert. MisterMo also has a VaMoots CR for sale in the classifieds:

Great bike, but is redundant with the Serotta Concours I got from AndySTI which has the longer TT to fit my longer torso.

Moots offers instructions on how to remove their post 2005 decals - heat them up with a a heat gun (and don't burn yourself.)

So...the Shimano decals are coming off.

In fact *all* of the white decals are coming off. I'm either going to install black decals to match the Vamoots, or perhaps take *all* the decals off.
