Another great Dirtphalt is in the books. Great to see the familiar faces and get to meet a few new ones. In all the years we have attended this ride we have never met someone we wouldn't gladly ride with again.
CNYRider opens his home and lake house and is such an accommodating and gracious host. As always, I look forward to the photos from BumbleBeeDave. Fortunately he did not capture some of the less than stellar moments this year on film. I'm looking at you AngryScientist |

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I've been eyeing this ride for a few years and decided this would be the year!
Then COVID, then I was scheduled to work on Saturday... I said, what the heck, it's only a couple hours away, I'll go down on Sunday morning. So glad I made the trip. I can see why CNYRider likes that route best ;-) I'll be posting about my Filthy Fillmore ride soon! (looks like the weekend before Halloween.) |

Awesome FB, maybe some of the Dirtphalt gang can reproup at the "Filthy" for one last end of season blast! Fillmore Glen State Park is pretty cool. I didn't make time to hike any of the gorge last time but maybe this time. Or ride around Owasco Lake again after the dirt ride to wind down (>:

Another great year, and big thanks to eric for hosting again. despite some bumps in the road (read: ski jumps...) it was a great time, as usual.
i am unofficially awarding the KOM title to A1A

Great pic's! And thanks for the KOM offer but I demure, you kicked my butt up that next to last climb, you were dancing on the pedals while being wounded at that!! We all really missed you on Saturday!

I forgot to mention another fringe benefit from Saturday's ride. On the way home, I stopped at Dyn's Cider Mill. The cider jug was filled while they served you and the doughnuts were still hot! My family loved the treats!

NYS is a beautiful area for sure! Otsego and the surrounding counties have some great riding and this event always brings out good company!

Thank you, Dave, for posting these photos! Terrific companions, world class riding, perfect weather, great food, AND a professional photographer to capture the moments. Cycling simply doesn't get any better than this.
For anyone inspired by Dave's photos to visit the Cooperstown area, I highly recommend The Inn at Cooperstown. The innkeepers are wonderful people and avid cyclists who joined Saturday's ride. Their inn is very cycling friendly and they can help you map out some great rides in the area. Greg |
