Alessandro Petacchi in the sprint today

anyone see the end of the giro today? Petacchi looked wooped at the end, evidently 500meter uphill sprints without a lead out man are hard.

I saw it. He just stopped pushing the pedals around. He did seem to be absolutely shattered when he sat down against the barrier. Credit to him for being there at the end - where was Cavendish?

Just saw the repeat on Universal Sports. Don't see that very often in professional racing.

Could also be a deal with Movistar... Y'know, make friends in the peloton an all. Ala LA and Pantani at the top of L'Alpe de Huez.

I doubt it, but it was obvious that he sat up.

U have to consider that petacchi is not a climber and he went with them anyways. He climbs better than many but as a sprinter he suffers like crazy monkey by doing stuff like this. Probably he was simply dead and with cramps in the quads, and when u get one of those u have to just stop pedaling. he did well tho.

Yes, first Camp-E GT victory.

Also, "After 10km of climbing, even if it was manageable, for me to do a sprint like that in a place like this was very difficult," Petacchi said between deep breaths.
