I was going to respond to the previous comment regarding performance...had a nice 2-paragraph comment (which even included an Einstein quote) but figured why add drama. In the end, 'performance' is relative to the rider.
Love the new bike...it looks like a respray project where they got a little heavy in the paint department. Very well could be a Jamis Quest, note that the Quest had a horizontal top tube until 2007 (or so) and sometime around there Jamis started using their own design/branded carbon forks. I did some looking at bikepedia, but there's many different models from different years that I wasn't able to narrow yours down based on the paint scheme on the fork. You could probably spend a little more time there and track it down. Also, the Satellite models have the descending top tube, but the angles aren't as steep, IIRC. If you find the rear a little on the springy/comfort side, then my guess is a Quest. I have a Satellite with 520 main tubes and 4130 tubes everywhere else and the rear end rides like a rock. Granted, it has Axis 2.0 wheels and gatorskins, but that bike is built to be 'bulletproof.' Last edited by josephr; 05-25-2018 at 12:17 PM. |

Thanks for the leads and the extra information, Joseph pal.
How did you know if it's been repainted? I couldn't tell. I thought the previous owner just removed the decals. Yes. A lot of unnecessary drama around here, usually the same players. That's why I obey this rule to the T.

IIRC, jamis has always put their logos/decals underneath the top clearcoat. They didn't take time to replace the headbadge so probably didn't come off in one-piece or broke/bent the crap out of it taking it off -- and there likely would be some scratches from removing it. The paint looks a little thick in places and doesn't look like its aged very well (which us untypical of a factory paint job)....but that could just all be the pictures and I very well could be wrong.
