The problem and is understandable why he was disappointed of the other guys refusing to pull is maybe because they did not see the chance to erase froome off the picture, they went with their own plans instead. At the same time they go after yates all together as a group, so at least yates doenst get any further and everybody still have a chance to the podium specially because still a lot of climbing to do this week. In other words, lack of vision.

Pozzovivo and the french cant TT at all, froome can and if he has a good day he can get 2 minutes off Pozzovivo and pinot w/o any problem and he can get at the door of the podium having more climbing to go, same happened to purito a few years back. He did not podium because he sat instead of pulling, froome catched, contador and froome dropped purito and froome got the bonus for 2nd. Bye bye podium for Purito, even valverde lost his 2nd that day. Contador wasnt too happy aswell.

Even contador was wondering the same thing when he saw the guys sitting there, he is doing commentaries for eurosport aswell.

Agree. Circus surrounding Froome/Sky aside right now, when you get the chance to nail the coffin shut on an opponent with his achievements, you have to take it. You may not get another one. Yates seems to understand this, TD seems to understand it, not sure about the others. It kinda seems to me like the two S. American guys are racing each other, more than worrying about podium.

If Froome makes it back to the podium, that will require more than just the TT.

Let's not get over excited. This thing is a 34 km, mostly flat TT. Could he take 2 minutes in the TT? Yes, it is possible. But then he has to defend that position, and other than Zoncolan, he hasn't shown he can do it. And, if it is like stage 15, when Poels and Froome flogged themselves to a stage win, they suffered and finished with the same time the next day.

After, the TT. Prato Nevoso (on Thursday) has to be Dumoulin's last stand. Looks like it is steady enough, and not so steep, that he can make something happen with his big engine.

Because Friday does not look promising.

Saturday, just not sure. Has some moderate gradients that might help Dumoulin, but hard to say for sure. Second to last day, probably lots of attacking from the base of the first climb, last chance at the OK Coral type of day. Not sure TD is going to be able to do anything other than react.

The colombians dont have any option in the TT, the only option for them is the white jersey.

Good point - I guess I hadn't thought of that in real time and expected them to consider Pozzovivo and Pinot as their competition for the podium spot not occupied by TD and Yates. I can see not risking the white for a nebulous shot at 3rd.

The two Colombians are right there in the top 10 the problem is that even pozzovivo can tt better than them so they wont even bother for the podium, for example carapaz and lopez lost in average 1 minute in the short ITT, in this one probably even pozzovivo will get a minute + out of them (thinking positively), same with pinot. So why to even bother? The funny thing of the white jersey fight is that both riders are pretty even, the other situation is that at least lopez needs to do well to help astana in the team ranking.

Given his [mediocre] performance thus far, I was actually quite surprised he won on Zoncolan. Not surprised that he tried, but surprised he was actually able to put time into people and win the stage.

It was the TT that put Froome back where he is now!
