I have a brand new 1x GRX long cage 11spd Der and I also have a GRX special edition cage/pulley assembly off a 2x drivetrain that I was gifted by a friend who swapped in a Kogel unit.
Can I put the 2x unit on the 1x derailleur or will there be an issue? I know people have swapped cages but have never done it myself. Assuming the guts of the der are the same, would the cage have any significant, detrimental effects to performance? There is a slight offset to the mounting position on the stock 1x cage whereas on the 2x it is centered on the jockey wheel.
