Agreed om GCN, glad someone is finally making a legitimate effort to bring us great coverage of all of the races, not just the Tour, and isn't basically a bunch of commercials interspersed with a few minutes of commentary between the commercials. so I am glad to give them $25 and hope the can make a real go of it for many years to come.

As far as the race, man that might have been the most epic break of all time, 3 world champions and 2 TDF winners in a 6 man group off the front! I mean seriously for the history buffs, was there ever anything with more firepower in it?.
This new generation is so exciting to watch.

Licensing/rights issues, I suppose.

I'm watching it on Flobikes.

With about 34k to go Sam Bennet either blew the biggest snot rocket of all time or puked a bit.

No video, and it says “available in Europe and New Zealand”. I looked ahead to next weekend’s race, same message.

US subscribers are now cut off? What changed? New race broadcasting agreements/contracts?

Nothing changed. The US rights to those 2 races are currently bought by Flo Bikes, so they can hold US cyclists hostage in order to fund their expensive bike trips. I think you can get those races for the $150 fee Flo charges.

Does anyone know if there will be any synergy between GCN subscription, and any Mountain Bike races (aka GMBN)?

I have been unable to figure out if the anticipated reduction in broadcasting of MTB events, will be picked up by GCN as a sister company of GMBN.

They are mostly just rebroadcasting Eurosport. I have not seen anything other than a doc on the Atherton family on MTB.

So I watched for the first time today and have a question.

Are there two different feeds, one LIVE and one not really live but delayed? I had it on all morning even if I didn't watch the entire time but accidentally closed the browser window. When I (immediately logged back on) POOF the race was over.

When it closed I thought it was 45K to the finish?

What in the hell was I watching?

Maybe it had been paused for a while?

I can't login on my desktop today. Firefox or Safari. iPhone works fine.

I watched on my phone (android) and I noticed that flipping to other apps screws up the sound/video sync. I got to hear Sean Kelly call the finish 12 seconds after it happened on the screen.

I've watched the 2 stages of the Giro broadcast by GCN on my TV by hooking up my computer to the TV with an HDMI cable. GCN is pretty slick this way. I don't get up on time to watch the entire race live but it's easy to roll back to the start so I can view the entire race from the start.
