This is so awesome. Just sooooo awesome! Absolutely stunning build, as expected.

What tires are those?

Thanks! Those are the sadly discountinued Panaracer SX Competition in 25s. They are such a nice tire.

Beautiful bike with a special story tied alongside of it. Can't get better than that. That bike is going to sing. Enjoy the miles!

Imagine you're a pro cyclist in the 90's and, right after you extinguish your cigarette, you look down and see THOSE chainstays on a competitor's bike

Stunning build and amazing paintjob!

@Kirk007
May I ask you if Pegoretti gives you the possibility to choose at least part of the paintscheme?
Thank you!

That there my friend is an amazing bike and fantastic build. Enjoy many happy FAST miles on that rig. That Ciavete paint job is one of my favorites. A BLE is on the list of Peg's I'd like to snag to go with my Duende and Love#3.

Lots of folk are black/black on the tape/saddle. What is kinda really nice is the options going forward you may have as mood might suits. At least 2 more palette directions for future contact point replenishment.

And if you are like me, I never part with gift from my kids or honey. So basic black or not, guess someone going to inherit that one.

How many dozen roses she getting today is the question?

I bought a 1971 Les Paul Deluxe recently. She still works and is the main bread winner [me retired]. I told her I'd put the money I took from savings back, she said happy birthday, don't.

Thanks. I'm not positive of the backstory on this frame but my surmise is it was a custom order that the customer didn't follow through on. My understanding is you can give the Peg folks' colors, themes ideas etc and then you get what they come up with on the Ciavete scheme. Lucky for me I loved it (and my wife really loved it) on first sight.

Yep, have a red saddle in the drawer, just need the right shade of tape. But yeah and if you look at the Peg website or pictures from the past you see many bikes that Dario built and posted photos of with different colored saddles etc. He definitely didn't feel limited to black/black or white/white!

And yes this one is in the household for life, luckily I like the ride. While I need a lot more miles, my initial impression is that it reminds me a lot of the Team Motorola MX leader that I had and now resides with my son. Rock solid, not light (but about 2-3 lbs lighter than that Motorola); a bike unphased by crappy pavement. And despite appearances of those chainstays and the reinforcements in the downtube, I would describe the ride as firm but not harsh; not the "I can ride this bike for an hour or so but forget about all day." And wether honeymoon phase, or the wheels, this bike does like to roll along at a good clip!
