etap 11 front derailleur pin: replacing it/repair advice

I have a front derailleur where the pin has come out. SRAM (of course) doesnt provide replacement pins (it's stamped) but I think there's a way to use a pivot pin and repair it - even if it doesnt work as smoothly as original, that's OK, I'm not racing on this bike.

Anyone have similar experiences? Advice? What did you use?

I like your idea of using some other pin as a pivot, just needs to be able to be secured on the ends without interfering.

Knowing how expensive those FD's are, I would use this as justification for buying a small metal lathe and making my own.

Yeah I guess that would work, as long as there's no play in the pivot.

Wow, how does that happen repeatedly and those guys won't repair or replace?

McMaster Carr or a good local hardware store. Most likely the former unless you have a place similar to our McGuckins.

So bike shop hacked together a fix. The forward hole is 4mm; the rear is 3mm. A long spoke nipple fits perfectly; from the rear, threaded a spoke and bent it to keep in place. I may have a more permanent solution from someone more well-placed.

I'll look into a pivot bolt but seems hard to find one with different diameters?

Warranty? Surprising that BITD, not too long ago, sram would warranty anything, for any reason, at any time. This is an obvious crappy design...Dave, what's up??

Well, the sram FD issue seems to be more common and I'll wager you that Campagnolo will warranty it. Maybe sram will too...don't know.

Maybe on both but sometimes I just like to yankyer chain about yer love for SRAM...
