Nice!!! When you get the wheels on please post a ride report. A Peg is on my bucket list but I may not have the horse power to give this model Peg what it needs. I may need a Respo or?

I may not either!

I am definitely looking forward to seeing just how different the Duende is once that one’s built and I’m cleared to ride this one.

With your ergonomic issues, I'm wondering if a 31.6 stem paired with some Specialized Hover bars could be good for you right now. (+15mm rise with those bars.)

I have set on this rig and touched the panels with my grubby mitts. The paint is beautifully superb.

Good thought, but I can just flip the stem if I want to ease my way into the final posture on it.. It's only 10-5-11cm of drop as shown, nothing extreme. If I had to have it at 8cm long term, I'd buy a new fork - Pegoretti will paint it to match and I don't think my vanity would let me ride hover bars..

Looks amazing! Interesting about the date of the frame—I thought Dario changed the name of the model to Mxxxxxo in 2014 after a falling out with his father.

Looks amazing! I do love a Mxxxxxo and would love to throw a leg over one again! The Conn Rust version I had years ago is still one of the most responsive lively feeling bicycles I have ever had/ridden. Really felt like a thoroughbred and loved getting pushed hard!

Looks great Dan, and hopefully all the health and flexibility issues will be resolved in the New Year.

It looks great! I love the paint, and of course, the build is immaculate. Well done!

Also, maybe it's worth letting go of the idea of getting back to the old "lots of drop" position? I had been sticking with my old stretched out racing position (and I haven't raced in ~7 years), then a couple of months ago I shortened all of my stems by 1 cm. It's just so much more comfortable - and right now all I want out of my time on the bike is enjoyment. Comfort = enjoyment.

I had the identical paint scheme on my Duende. At first I wasn't in love with the looks but I grew to really love it. I rode the Duende for 5 years abd love it.

That's a good perspective. We'll see what happens.. this is/was supposed to be my go fast/hard and not long bike - crits, fast group rides, whatever. And the drop on it as-is isn't obscene. I hope I can get back to riding like that in the next few months and if not, a new fork would work to get me up a couple cms.

In the meantime, I'll be building my Duende, which has a lot more stack and mellower vibes.
