Twin 2017 Speedvagen SL Overt

As you may know, I have an identical twin brother name Ha. He and I got into riding when our BMX bikes had a flat tire and we were too lazy to change out the tube as a 3rd grader. We found our dad’s 10-speed road bike in the garage and took that out for a spin. Oh boy!! That was when we realized how much faster it was and we never looked back.

He was the first to get a Speedvagen among our friends. Custom fixie about 10 years ago. I finally drank the Kool-Aid and found a used OG-1 2 years ago. One of my favorite bikes in the stable since Day 1. And then Ha got an Urban Racer last year in a custom paint scheme in memory of our military pilot dad.

He always told me about that one unicorn bike he saw during the Fit Tour that he could never forget. Following this thread, it was the 2017 Overt on SV’s website. Ha was the lucky one that picked up the one from SV’s website. Ha dumped the 6800 parts and wheels and is finalizing the last few pieces of his awesome build. I had the chance to see the Overt in the flesh and it does not disappoint. It’s over the top and I now understand why it spoke to Ha so much.

Then huck*this (Justin) picked up an Overt SL from a seller in Hawaii earlier this year and shared his experience here:
https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ght=Speedvagen. These Overts are twins!!

QUOTE=Kyle h;3105083]So you snagged both of those! That second SV had a twin for sale for a long time from SV directly recently but it was built with 6800 mech.[/QUOTE]

Well, the stars lined up and the opportunity for me to pick up the twin Overt Speedvagen to Ha’s Overt has come along. Per our conversation with SV, only two Overts were this color combo in 2017. They will NEVER repaint the Overt again due to the massive hours of masking / taping / painting. I am so happy that my twin and I will be twinning it on these Overt SV’s. They will be the same but different , just like me and Ha. And the cherry on top is that the geometry of Justin’s Overt is 99% of my upcoming custom ti SV. So strange how things come around and work itself out.

Thank you Ha and Justin so much for making this happen. These will be our forever bikes. No one can make up such a story. Here’s to my 2017 Speedvagen Overt SL 2.0. Some changes are coming so stay tuned. Thank you PL family!!

No idea yet but I will measure it once it’s all done. Bike is in transit now. Justin does a great job of packing for the extra peace of mind for everyone.

Great story and glad I can be part of it to make it happen. I think I said it before. But pretty amazing world we leave it to see two twins on a ride with near identical special SV.

Enjoy my friend! (Thomas train not included in sale, son put it there as it needs batteries. haha)

I did not weigh it myself either but I can say this. It is lighter than my Dogma F10 disk.

I was fortunate to pick up Huck's Speedvagen CX and was able to see this one while picking it up. It is one of the most stunning bicycles I have ever seen! Congrats!

Great story. Just reminds me of how much we have to be thankful for.

You'll treasure that bike, I'm sure.

I almost snagged this off the bay before Justin picked it up. I'm glad I didn't as this story is so good. Enjoy!

I usually hate neon colours on bikes (I'm boring, I know)...but man that SV looks sick. The grey and neon kinda gives it a "80s battleship" look.

I remember when Ha sent me the eBay link. Sounds like we all ride the same size and have the same passion for cycling. Glad it didn't end in a massive bidding war. Much respect for one another. Justin has been great on making this adoption happen.

Due to recent health issue, I am approaching life in a different perspective. Life can be short so enjoy things that make you happy. Make memories with those who you love. Yes, I will treasure this bike but I treasure my family, friends, and health more than anything material. So long we are out riding with each other, it's all good!!

Right Hilltopperny?! When I saw Ha's Overt in person this July, I was floored. Computer monitors and cell phones can not capture the epic colors of this paint scheme combo. Stunning is a great word. How are you digging the CX? That one looks great too!!

AndersCAAD, yes, I am usually not a big fan of neon colors either. When Ha showed me the Overt he was getting from SV, I was meh at first. I couldn't figure out why he liked it so much. I didn't get it a fair shake. But once I saw it in person, I was OMG. Sick is another great way to describe it. It's over the top but not in a bad way. The more I look at his frame, the more I details I pick up on. I have some painting background and I can completely appreciate the 150+ hours that goes into each these Overts from start to finish. The layers and layers of masking to achieve the painted graphics is unreal. There's 6 total colors going on and that's SICK!! Check out the paint card.

The CX is phenomenal! It like to pushed and rewards the effort as good or better than my old Duende CX bike and is as stable and balanced as any bike I have ridden. It is a smile enduring pr machine.

It is my first Speedvagen and I am very impressed with it! One of the best bicycles I have thrown a leg over!
