21 Months Later... English content inside!

For a long time I've drooled over the work of Rob English and finally decided to bite the bullet and place a deposit in late 2019. Bounced back and forth a few times on seat mast or no seat mast, colors, and builds but ultimately decided to go without the carbon ISP as we travel a fair amount and a std post makes things just a little bit easier with bike bags. Rob was super easy to work with and communication was top notch. Initial estimate was ~18mo so a little longer than initially planned but overall will within the expectations. We are leaving next week for two weeks of riding in Switzerland and Italy so I was hoping to have a little more seat time to fine tune my fit and iron out any kinks but I guess this trip will give me lots of seat time to dial it in.

Frame geo is similar to a 54 Tarmac but a little more optimized for short cranks and with clearance for 32c tires. My LBS has been holding a launch edition DA9270 (all black) group for this but 160-165mm cranks in 9200 have been a little scarce so we went 8100, as well as an 8100 cassette. A Darimo T1 seat post, Berk Dila padded saddle, Extralite stem, and Enve AR bar. Wheels are LightBicycle rims with CarbonTi hubs and CXRay spokes. Weight is 15.75# with pedals, cages, and garmin mount.

Spectacular as one would expect!
Is it one of his nifty folding frames for travel as well?

That is really sweet. I've been drooling over Rob's frames for some time myself. An 18-month lead time, hmmm, that would be just in time for a 70th birthday present to myself. I'll need a new lighter bike then, right?

It is not, just the standard road frame. The folders are super sweet though!

Super Nice! Great looking color. Seems likes itโ€™s probably even better in person.
