Zanconato Custom Cycles
#1801 - Aluminum Road32. I may have to change the name of this model.
Customer need - to shred all kinds of surfaces. Solution - room for 650x47 and 700x40 and go rip. ![]() #1801 650x47 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr ![]() #1801 650x47 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr ![]() #1801 700x40 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr ![]() #1801 700x40 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr ![]() #1801 Road32 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr ![]() #1801 Road32 by Mike Zanconato, on Flickr Warning - extreme tech nerd gibberish follows that I hope may help any aluminum weldors out there. On a personal weld-nerd note, I did a little tuning of my balance, EN/EP amps, and wave form. I have been really happy with soft square wave, but wanted to spend some more time with triangular wave. I found it really made a difference and I could turn my balance up while still getting the cleaning action I needed and extending electrode life. |

Dedacciai has a nice selection of Scandium alloyed tubes now. They added a couple of new ones this year.

Scandium is available? That's cool.
At least I think that's cool - but is there any real-world feedback that a scandium frame is any different from 7005 or 6061 Al frame on the road? |

I know nothing about welding. Can some pal educate me on what we are looking at?

You're looking at some very nice welds in titanium, where the spacing between each mark is very regular. Some people refer to this as "a stack of dimes". It shows a welder with practiced, steady hands. You're also seeing really minimal discoloration away from the welding, which shows that there's no contamination from oxygen or other errant gasses. All in all, quality work.
