what a great looking bike, carl.
btw, what is up with these tapered CS? Is this called external butting, or it is called swaged? or something else?

i follow your builds via your gallery very closely. and have not found these kinds of tapered cs often. so is there any reason why you woudl choose it Vs let's say, those ovalized or almost rectangularized type titanium CS tubes?

looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
thanks!

Thanks nmrt. The tapered stays are swaged, meaning their diameter was changed (tapered). Not a lot of builders use them. Not sure why, I love them.

I use them for both their clean, traditional appearance and also their feel. They provide a lively flex at the tip but maintain good BB stiffness. I think it's a win, win.

Sorry so late to reply. That frame has an effective 525 toptube. Here is the schematic with all the specs.

Here is a fun bike. This customer has purchased several bikes from me over the years.

Things he wanted on this bike were horizontal toptube and welded on post binder. He was interested in a clean look and I think we got it.
