Having the clamp turned oposite of the spit is recommended when using a carbon post. The other option is an asymmetric clamp from Campagnolo or miche.

Yup - beat me to it. Shop did it that way and when I asked why, they said it helped to spread the clamping force.

BTW, just to be explicit about what I see that is right about this setup: a setback post where the saddle is NOT slammed forwards on the seat rails and a reasonably long stem with not more than 10mm of spacers. All on a smaller sized frame. Based on these visual cues, I'd say the owner of this bike knows what he's doin'. |

Not so great pic of mine stuffed in the corner of my garage with my RL cross bike. Marcelo 53 with as many silver bits as I could find (campy ti post, ritchey silver classic stem, silver king HS and silver spacer, silver alchemy hubs on silver velocity rims, king ti cages, silver record brakes, and a few other bits). Still fairly light at just under 17lbs. JT

Here's mine, its a size 60cm duende in orange catch the spider. It has a standard geo 58.5 TT except 2cm shorter headtube 190mm instead of 210mm and a 1cm shorter seattube. I think those changes really make the bike look better than other XL size pegoretties.
ive got this frame listed in classifieds as a possible trade. Ive never tried a colnago carbon bike ![]() Last edited by Bantamben; 10-29-2013 at 09:46 AM. |
