That's the problem I'm talking about, those numbers dont coexist on the geometry chart. That bike, based on the head tube length is probably a 49 or 50 IMO.

Ahh, You're right. I missed the custom part. That's the key here I assume.

Ya know, whenever I sell a bike for $1200 or more, I always make an attempt to touch up the worst of the paint issues and wipe off the worst of the grime.

But that’s just me.

But then it’s not a barn find, having been mucked with.

Edit: then again, most barn finds should be <$1200

That is an interesting top of seat tube connection but not good looking in my opinion.

DAMN - That thing is AMAZING! I had a plain old one of these many years ago and it was gorgeous, but nowhere as rare as this.

D'oh. And I'm usually a careful reader, thanks Peter.

“Professionally rebuilt for maximum performance, options available” does not sound like a barn find to me. Looks more like just a lazy bones flip.
Not impressed.

For Riv fans- an Appaloosa

Saw this on consignment at Transit Cycles in Tucson. An Appaloosa kitted out with lots of Paul Components and Nitto parts. It includes racks, a basket and a nice Ric saddle bag. Asking price is listed as $2,500.

Anyone know the story?

Edit to add: this looks to be the bike as first assembled from Cyclesport https://thecyclesportexperience.com/...ica-strada-sl/
I know the full story and the owner. We got these as team bikes for 2018, and I’ve got the black one that’s up here. These were TIGed with a custom lightweight Columbus tubeset and can build up to 15-16lbs without going too crazy. Ride is really springy with sharp handling. He’s not lying, he rode the solid green one a lot more and has been stacking miles on a Trek Emonda lately.

Fabrica sold the brand in 2020, as the two younger Italians who started it went different ways. Built some really sweet bikes for a time, got a nice following then left building.
