I say it's time to join me. No more PMs. It's just easier that way.

Do worry, you are years and years from my partypace anthem I'm always playing on the turntable.

My response belongs in that other thread about successfully transitioning from (my decidedly average Master's doofus) racing (career, if one can it that).

Short answer = Lavi is 100% correct. The PM needs to be retired, too.

But (there's always one of those, right?) DAMN it feels SO GOOD on those magical days when I'm not the nail to the young and/or fast guys' hammer on our local group ride.

(Insert Will Farrell beer-chugging meme from Old School here)

Back to the bike.....so when exactly are you selling it to me?

At age 68 2/3, one TKA and another coming up, I really relate to the PM debate. I picked up a pair of Assioma Duals a year prior to my first TKA thinking I'd use them to assess and focus on balance. Yeah, did that but still not 50/50 -- but really don't care that much any more.

I do like having them, although going more old-guy polarized so mostly HR for easy, and once you go hard, "how hard" probably doesn't matter much. Still, not selling them as I'm still a bit of a tech weenie. Will have to make a decision if/when they die....

Oh, and amazing bike!

Pedals: DA9100 +4mm - may go to Time Xpro shortly on all my bikes to get more support and adjustability.

That's it. Nearly done and ready for dusting.

Be mindful that you’re going to give up some potential stance width moving to the Xpro pedals. Even with the Time cleats in their outermost position, the Q factor is only 54.3mm if my memory serves. Additionally, the Time cleat doesn’t have the lateral adjustment range that the Shimano cleats do. If you are using +4mm Shimano pedals with the cleats pushed all the way inboard on your shoes to maximize the stance width, you will end up with less with the Time setup.

Tried some new shoes today on a 20-mi rip.. and - they're overkill. They look sweet but I think sticking with Boras makes the most sense on this build, so these will be headed to the classifieds shortly. Not really a fan of the bars either, so those also will get offered up.. and it seems I actually do need a setback post here, so that's coming too.

Niggles like that aside, this bike is incredible. It's more than my neck can really take for a long ride but it is just so much fun to hammer this thing.

It doesn't hurt that it's easy on the eyes.

I wouldn't go that far.. These are wider and more aero than Bora WTOs, and are a better fit for our flat-land brethren wanting to go fast on rim brakes over less than ideal surfaces.

It looks like you are running EE brakes on there. What would you say the practical limit of outer brake track width is for these?

Again, IMO, Bora WTOs are about as wide as I would ever want to run on campag brake calipers. Any wider than that, you barely can get any preload on the brake spring.

Not sure. I think these are some of the widest rim-brake wheels available. Braking is excellent - but I'm not a daredevil descender, so others' results may vary..

Boras are 26.5mm wide external, these are 28-29mm. Front internal on these is 20mm, rear is 19mm (which is what the WTOs are).

If we accept the general literature on aero stuff, these rims are a better pairing with 27mm tires and are probably most aero with 25s - and probably a "faster" wheelset, all else equal, than WTO 60s. Does that matter? Maybe. One thing is certain.. they are more expensive (unless buying my lightly used pair - )

Nice bike! Shallower rims, please, your choice as to what they are, you know what you like in that regard anyway.

And yes, also, to panels.

Chapeau

Sweet bike, Dan. I really like the color and subdued graphics. Where are those photos taken?
