Upgraded by updating her IOS and bricking her phone. So I gave her my 13.

I have a suspicion this update not only crashed my sons watch, but also brought down the FAA computers today when a pilot tried the same update last night. You heard it hear first…

Well, just an update….Apple called me back after letter to Tim Cook and agreed to take it back to have their tech team take a look at it. On its way back to mother ship! Very good second level customer service!!

His email address is easy to find. I’m under no illusion he read my email but his executive assistant called me back shortly after sending it! I’m guessing they have a team dealing with crazy customers like me.

All reasonably big companies do. My wife used to get calls from the CEO’s staff to take care of things like this.

I'll bet you'll get a new watch...
What do they say...good news is told to 21 people, bad news to 9..or something? A LOT of times people buy the 'company' as much as the item.

For right below..huzzah..no surprise. I bought an IWatch for me son's birthday. Came UPS...and noticed when I looked at the box, it had already been opened, driver already left. I 'think the UPS dude stole it BUT..Got it from Apple, called Apple first and they said they would do the investigation AND sent a new watch...

Haha, we have the same watch and the same phone. My watch is "rose gold" because it was my mother's before I got it, so cute.

I mean, that's cool, but it still sucks that they basically made millions of series 3 watches trash.

Nothing other than could not be fixed, they originally were going to send a repaired one back to me (or trade in from someone) but that one got stuck in transit at Memphis FedEx facility. They sent another one as a result of that error and this was the new one with upgraded band and cell capable. First level CS support not great when we had original problem, but after got into the 2nd level support at Apple what a difference. Kept me as a customer.

At the end of the day I’m ok with them stopping support for old products, I was just upset that the update they pushed bricked the device. If they just would have said don’t do the update this never would have happened. Hopefully they made fix to update so it no longer happens. Few quick searches on my end showed its been a problem for several weeks prior with others but Apple seems to be keeping that on down low. I imagine in 5 years there will be a class action suit which will net you a $5 apple gift card if you can prove you had one.

Oh well, kid is happy, I’m happy. Good day ~
