OT: Flickr sucks now, or am I doing something wrong?

After backing up my photos for a decade now I decided to go to Flickr Pro so I don't lose it all but now the app sucks!

Am I simply missing things? I can't efficiently scroll way back for older photos and I can't make groups of photos public without doing it individually! All things I used to be able to do.

I mean, is this how it works? Pay for the service and get less usability out of it? Doesn't seem logical.

Anyways, I'm on there ...

I think that's the link. Haha!

I make my photos public when I upload them, so not sure about making them public. I have had issues with site performance, which makes everything work poorly.

It was bought by Yahoo, which has been run by incompetents for twenty years. Every service it had was once dominant then neglected then pissed away. Don't be too surprised.

When photobucket lost their mind I moved to ImageShack and it's been great. I do an annual sub $ for it. I've not used it from mobile so no experience with how it functions from that. Moving images between folders, making folders public, link or password is easy and it all works.

Great so it just sucks now?
I have to scroll for 10 minutes to see last year's photos.

I have a load cached at Flickr and use it primarily for storage.
Years ago the ALBUM feature spoke to me, but lately I just dump everything in the same one.
I can see images in an ALBUM, or using PHOTOSTREAM.

I don't know what problem you're seeing there, but using ORGANIZE is simple, and grabbing images by date is also possible.

And then it was sold to smugmug. You're a bit behind the times.

When it went through the sales it lost a ton of community. So, yeah, sorta sucky compared to the glory days.

To your issues, I'm not sure if any of the features I regularly use change. I've always organized the photos into at least rudimentary albums, so that makes finding stuff pretty easy for me.

The cost of the Pro version was $25/year for those of us grandfathered into that (they didn't offer it for a time), but I just learned recently that it has doubled to $50.

Maybe I'll have to start being a little more aware of that. I've basically used it as a cloud photo backup dump.

I'll also have to try out the desktop version.
