I don't know the current condition of the roads, but I rode in that area last fall and the dirt was pretty smooth. Don't think you would need much more than a 35c tire.

Tires, I was thinking something like a Clement LAS in 33c

gearing, everyone sounds right there. I'm running force 1x with a mid cage, so the thought is to go 38t front with an 11-36 rear.

Well that was a beautiful and brutal ride

I rode the 90 mile 'Plenty' route. Had an absolute blast. Well marked route, with plenty of well stocked aid stations (two with beer!), including drop bags at mile 53ish (which I took advantage of!)

5 cat3/4 climbs, including a couple of very long ones. The route was mostly dry with one narrow muddy path the got my feet wet (thankfully before the drop bag stop)!

I rode my Trek Checkpoint with the stock Schwalbe G-One 35mm tires set up tubeless (worked great.) Added a Wolftooth Roadlink 11 and an XTR 11-40 cassette ('cause I'm weak and fat but don't care to walk!)

I've known Dave Pryor and Selene Yeager for a few years (just casual acquaintances), but got to meet Jay Petervay, which was an unexpected treat. He's such a down to earth generally nice guy.

A++ event, will plan to do the 120 next year!

This just in from the race organizers:

Wanted to send all of you some thoughts while we're working on the official post-unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley recap (Spoiler Alert: There will be an excessive use of the word "love").

1. Results are posted online. Have already heard from a few of you that your result is not listed. Sorry about that, and if it happened to you please send us a link to your Strava, RideWithGPS, Garmin Connect, etc. and we'll get you in. Then we'll post them officially when we update unPAvedPennsylvania.com.

2. If you didn't pick-up your drop bag at the finish please send me a shipping label and we'll get your gear back to you. My address is Dave Pryor, 656 Evergreen St, Emmaus, PA 18049 and I will need to know what your rider number was. Please give me a couple weeks to get around to this though. Thanks.

3. Yes, there will be a 2019 unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley, tentatively scheduled for October 27th and you will get first dibs on getting in before we open registration to everyone you made jealous this year.

4. The photo gallery will be up hopefully in a week or so. But from what I've seen so far, those mountains look good on you.
