If we can ride with dead people, I'd like to see my son again.

I won't, and I can't ride with any dead people, probably not when I'm dead, either.

If I could ride with anyone living it would be a person who can ride and who I would love to converse with. I'm sticking with Barack Obama. He rides at my (current) pace, and I'd love to hear his thoughts in a one on one private conversation.

We're about the same age, share some of the same interests, probably ride at about the same pace.

And I suspect he's a great conversationalist.
I have first hand knowledge that he keeps a very nice tempo.

All other details and knowledge of those rides stays on those rides! Shoulda been there.

I don't think it matters at the speeds he and I try to ride at. I'm pretty sure I could ride my Raleigh Sports and not my De Rosa.

A ride with Laurent Jalabert looking cool in just his cap, the peloton passing by us without even a slight acknowledgement either way. No words between us, just me trying to ride like him. Impossible, but a nice dream.

My mom and dad. Not really cyclists but they bought bikes for their camping trips. They were so excited to tell me when they got them. Both have since passed. But what I wouldn't do to go for an easy spin with them around one of many campgrounds they loved. Miss you both. Matthew

The GCN where they rode the Poggio with Sean Kelly was pretty neat. But he would probably hate drop me.

TBH, I wasn't really following bike racing when he was active.

When I saw the Jersey and bikes I was thinking LeMond too.
The real Greg LeMond would be my choice as I rode in a race with him around 1980.

I participated in the annual Stanford-Cal team ride almost 25 years ago. Greg LeMond joined us for the first part of the ride and it was a great experience. Until he completely lost it and performed one of the most irresponsible and dangerous passing/turning maneuvers I’ve ever seen, directly into incoming traffic and missing a car by only a few inches. A fraction of a second and he would have been dead, possibly taking a few of us with him.

Eddy Merckx! That would be something special! My cycling idol growing up.
