When you hate cyclists, but not in a murderous way...

Two people have minor injuries after a driver became trapped in the storefront of a bicycle shop...

Bike shops usually have the right of way, but we'll have to wait for the police report.

OK, talk about deja vu all over again, I'm 99.999999% sure that a few days ago somewhere on the web (this forum?) someone posted an image or link to a site with a picture of that bike shop (sans crashed Volvo), complete with the optometrist's right next door. And I posted a comment saying something about the how the bike shop needed security bars, but the optometrist didn't, or something like that.

So either there was in incredible coincidence, or I can see into the future.

I'm surprised the news story didn't state whether the bike shop was wearing a helmet or had flashing lights.

Cause, you know, it's the bike shop's fault.

They didn't show the view where it shows that it was virtually impossible for that car to hit the bike shop without hitting cars or fixed obstacles.

It wasn’t the drivers fault, the shop ran a stop light.

I know I am being pedantic and it is irrelevant to most if not all on this board but I hate it when the largest news organization in Toronto gets information wrong. A simple check of the address would have worked.

For those in Toronto, it was not the Bloordale store but the Annex store. They have two, this was actually Swete Pete's B Side store.

How on earth did that happen? I’ve seen cars parked nose-in do similar, or cars at T intersections and similar run into store-fronts. But, to end up 90* to traffic flow on what appears to be a relatively slow-speed urban street, with parking and a protected bike lane? That takes some skill.

So far I'm assuming it requires flooring it until stopped by external objects. I'm disappointed no footage has come out from security cameras though.

But did it really crash into the bicycle shop or was it an "accident"?

<<<It wasn’t the drivers fault>>>
Never is.

Got Coal Rolled *4 times* in a couple blocks, and driven off the road, wheel & tire damage this week.
Decided to try reporting it.

Cop told me how "lucky" I was that the 20-year-old punk in an illegally modified $70k pickup (thanks dad) did not kill me.

Cuz, you know, bikes do not belong.

Unfortunately that is a very bad/sad reflection on the barely unified nation aka U.S.A.
