OT: Ipad completely dead...

I have an iPad Pro and iPhone, and I used a Mac at work, but I don't think I'd buy a Mac desktop or laptop for myself. Not only are they expensive but they are not upgradeable and repairable any longer, and the laptops don't have a touch screen. Everything is hard soldered in a Mac laptop now. Hard drives have a finite life and you may want to add memory. There's a lack of ports as well. I had to use one of these hubs plus dongles to hook a thumbdrive, external monitor, mouse, and ethernet up. Basically, form/style over function.

I learned way early on with a a Fat Mac. Yeah the M$ alternatives are always in need of cfg diddles etc. But I learned how to get good at it and made a good living as a result.

I had this happen with our 12mo old iPad recently and assumed an issue w charger. I took it in and (under warranty) they replaced it - they said it was ‘dead’ . I never asked details, as I was so happy I received a new iPad!

Is it under warranty? I think more than a few of them have hardware issues. This message is of no help

How much do those multi dongles cost. Looks well implemented and a mandatory tool to me.

There are a lot of people that repair apple products. I'm pretty sure there is still one here in town. If the geniuses say it's dead, I would find one that has good ratings.

Thanks, just ordered one! I don't need USB interfaces that often anymore, but when you need one..
