Wish I had a chance to meet him. Seems like a wonderful man the world has lost.

This is truly sad news. I have three bikes welded by Max, but more importantly I will remember the visits at NAHBS and Chris King. He always remembered me and we laughed about how challenging what was probably the only kickstand plate he ever fabricated on my Tournesol "Shopper" was. The last time I saw him was in Portland a couple years ago and he was so excited about how fun titanium anodizing was. We have lost a creative, talented and genuine person.

Very sad news which hits close to home for me as I have a dear cousin who in the end stage of acute myeloid leukemia. Like Max, she has finally stopped all treatments and is at home with hospice. I spoke to her on the phone yesterday which might have been our last conversation
Cancer sucks!!! Thoughts and prayers go out to Max's family and friends. |
