Whatever happened to Velospace?

This has been in my head forever. I remember where that was the place to be for pics of nice bikes and good talk. One minute it was bustling, next it was dead. What happened to it?

The guy that started it, (Greg IIRC) was a really cool dude. I think Reddit really killed a lot of smaller forums. Bikeforums, Chifg were my hangouts back in the day, haven't been on either in years.

Among my incredibly varied interest groups, there has been an exodus from reddit since it was bought and censored.

PedalRoom still seems alive, although I think it was down for a while. The world needs more social networks for bikes.

This CYFAC looks incredible

Define alive?

Yes, it exists but there hasn't been any new content for an extended period. Recent Comments was 1 year and 45 weeks ago. Last bike posted was also years ago. None of the photos will come up for me, at least on my browser.

So it is essentially a dead site. Which brings us back to the original question, what happened?
