Pretty simple really......

That wasn't the one but good on them for doing it!

A number of distilleries in WA State are switching to making hand sanitizer...

Good on them for going to get supplies that help. On the other hand, there may be some who object to certain aspects of the transaction:

Well, if the purchase of PPE was organized, centralized at the Federal level, this sort of thing wouldn't happen. But, 'complainers', so the sputtering, disorganized Fed approach.....

There is a story circulating that “the Feds” confiscated an inbound shipment while it was on the road.

This was going to cause an even greater shortage here so Kraft offered this to Gov. Baker.

The National Guard received the shipment in Boston and took it to wherever the Commonwealth is stockpiling supplies.

NY Times had a story this morning that Jared Kushner is essentially in charge of the response at this time with respect to PPE, not Pence, and that he had shipped in his buds.

Someone had described it as if a frat party had been dropped off by a UFO and been put in charge.

Oh great, I feel better - not. Just a continuing saga of the administration putting people in charge of something they know absolutely nothing about. Jared is less than useless.

Just heard this on the radio today.
Not having all states with mandatory shelter in place is like having a pool with a separate pee section.

I've decided to just ignore the Feds, their briefings, their actions..they are less than irrelevant. Hopefully the next Attorney General will have an investigation, ala the 9/11 commission, to show who is responsible and culpable for this fractured, disorganized, ignorant Federal response.

It is really great Kraft stepped up. The scale of the supplies needed and the broken global logistics right now means getting supplies shipped to where needed may be as big or bigger challenge than getting the supplies manufactured.

I assume his plane was max payload for the flight home. The news reports 1,000,000 N95 masks, I see it as 10 tons without any packaging. Since the packaging weighs more than the PPE, you see the problem.

That is the nature of the government. Whatever side is in charge you get a fractured, disorganized, ignorant Federal response.

OK, so I work in healthcare sector and also live in MA and have knowledge of how this story unfolded. Read on if interested...
Originally, Gov Baker's administration ordered N95 masks from BJs. They arrived in NY, trucks were there to take them back to MA and the Feds stepped in and confiscated all of them to put into national stockpile. The Fed stockpile is then passed onto distributors (eg McKesson, Cardinal Health etc.) to distribute. Rumor has it that states have to bid for these masks - so states end up bidding against one another driving prices up.

Gov Baker was needless to say incensed by it all.

Baker contacted a couple of Harvard med school professors with ties to China asking them if they could source 1M N95 masks. Gov Baker then called Kraft and asked if he could assist in getting masks directly back to MA. Kraft volunteered use of the Patriots jet - a Boeing 767.

Masks arrived this past week. Baker then went on to help NY and sent 300K masks directly to them.
One of the more bizarre, twisted stories during this whole COVID crisis.

Fed administration response has been beyond bad - its deplorable.

Disagree..starts with the character, intelligence of the guy in the big chair. The initial response by Bush2 for 9/11 was anything but fractured, disorganized or ignorant.
Same for GW1, regardless whether you agree with the response or not, it was NOT fractured, disorganized nor ignorant. The BIG difference was who the guy sitting in the big chair put in place to accomplish the 'goals'.
Same for 2008 Great Recession...By President Obama.

Today, the actors are......fractured, disorganized and VERY ignorant, throw in arrogant and hyper partisan, with only one directed date and goal in mind..November, 2020.

From right above.

I wonder when US pro sports players and team owners will be asked to reduce their salaries to help offset the salaries of non-playing employees? Messi makes $31M/year in salary (another $98M in endorsements!) and he and his Barcelona teammates are taking a 70% salary pay cut until they're back on the pitch.

About the same time as putnameofbigcorporateCEOhere does to help pay his employees...as in, never.
