Carl Strong Ti road frameset for today's cold, wet ride. Guess I can't call it a rain bike since it has no dynamo hubs and internally geared hubs.

I fully endorse and happily participate in the shift away from garage door backdrops for this ti bike thread. Some great pics here.

I remember Kent Eriksen (disclosure: I am a rabid fan) anodized some Moots frames back in the early-mid 90's -then seven poo-poo'd that saying it was going fail (or somebody). Then Firefly re-started the current trend of anno'd ti and now, well, who doesn't have an anno option on ti? pretty cool imo.

It's just an electric and chemical reaction. And it's only a surface treatment. If you use a slight abrasive rag or chemical, you can remove it completely. Enigma has been doing for 6+ years. Everyone is doing it now. It pretty easy to do and can produce some great results. |

Seven strongly advises against anodizing titanium. Hence, we will void the lifetime warranty on any Seven frame that has been anodized. Tim |

They both offer some range of anodized finishes that look great. From reading Seven's blurb it sounds like they're worried about cracking from the potential gas buildup and composition change which I would definitely worry about near/on the weld areas, but if you see where other builders are anodizing it is always right on the tubes where they should be strong enough to hold up and surrounded by "clean" Ti |
