Wilier Zero.6. To be fair, my commute is 35 miles round trip with 2500 vertical feet. Bike stays in my classroom with me. I don't take that one often, but the one I usually use is a focus izalco max that only weighs about 1/2 pound more than the wilier.

My old commuter was my IF Independence, but since no one knows what an IF is in Denver, I wasn't concerned. I took my Legend in once, locked up in a safe place with both a U lock and a Beast chain, but I was so preoccupied during the day in fear of my bike being stolen I went down to the garage 3 times to check on it.
Now I commute on my ti Fierte most days, the IF when I need to carry a laptop. The Fierte is really a perfect commuter, and even thought it was expensive once for the first owner, rim-brake ti is almost free these days, so I don't think it is extravagant at all. |

I use an old titanium Redline as my commuter. It is basic here on this forum, but its the fanciest commuter in my bike room at work.
I commuted a few times to work on my Speedvagen (for the hell of it and continuing on after work for a long summer night ride) but was totally paranoid all day, as mentioned above. It wasn't worth it... |

I've commuted on all of my bikes:
- Gängl TSX steel built with Record 10 spd & tubular wheelset - Gängl Custom titanium was built with the Record 10, now just recently built with Record 12 spd & tubular wheelset or Campy Neutron clincher wheelset - Look 695 built with Super Record 11 & ENVE 4.5 SES tubular wheelset, or Campy Shamals running tubeless - Look KX Light with Chorus 11 & tubular wheelset My commute is typically 21 miles one way. If the closest gate to the base is closed, then it is 25 miles one way. My bikes sit in the office within 15 ft of my desk. They are never left outside. Why have nice bikes if you only ride them on special occasions or really nice days. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

My Bilenky Signature Clubsman. It was always kept inside in the corner of a tractor-trailer sized drive-in bay, unlocked. Our location made locking it unnecessary.
A couple of the primary conditions you must consider when choosing which bike to commute on include theft potential and exposure to weather. They're valid considerations and certainly specific to your situation. You're just choosing the right tool for the job.

I used a Serotta CSI touring bike with Phil hubs, Mavic ceramic rims and XTR parts with barcons and Old Man Mountain rack and panniers. It came inside with me during the day.

But if you have some rim-brake Ti in 60cm that you want to give away for free, please, send it my way. |

My 333fab, with SR and Shamals. I lock it at the bike rack next to our president's car.

I have on occasion commuted on my Richard Sachs. It comes up into the office with me...as does every bike I commute on: It's New York effin City, I wouldn't lock up any bike outside and expect to find it intact 8 hours later.

It has to be this. I mean look at it. Fenders, rack, basket, generator, lights, suspended leather seat, chrome, Heron crank, etc, etc.
