Not sure I want to know what happened to that seatpost.

There are other brands of seatpost binders that will fit, otherwise you're looking at $40 probably. But you need to figure out what diameter the hole is.

There were two sizes of Campagnolo seat post binder bolts BITD, 8 diameter and 10mm diameter. I feel like I've never seen a bike that took the 10mm bolt. But I'm sure they are out there

Which raises the question of what size seat tube you have, is it 28.6 (i.e. 27.2 seat post)?
Ah, so the 8 or 10mm is not thread pitch it's the two sizes of Campy bolts? Never knew that. Always ask a mechanic, never trust the sales guy.

Actually was a perfect fit.

My brand new calipers, taken straight from the box and purchased literally to take the most accurate measurement of the inner diameter of seat tube, went on the fritz as soon as using them. No way was I going to commit to buying a NOS vintage Campy post at the prices they are without being absolutely 100% certain for myself in measuring for the right diameter.

So I said what the heck and grabbed the ritchey post (on which a saddle was mounted). Fit perfect, just snug enough (and needing just a slight twist and push while holding on to saddle) that once a binder bolt is on there, will hold as it should.

yeah, I have no idea what the threads are. Same as the $5 ones from Salsa, I am pretty sure.

Only pictures I have of the 10mm are crummy, the 8mm was taken in a light tent

Got it

I'm sure I never even thought about the sizing given that I was usually just replacing them visually vs by size. My old co-workers would be so disappointed in me! Now I know.
