Headset Cover Question

I have a Columbus Compass semi-integrated headset, there are 2 variants of upper covers - one is ~10mm the other is ~16mm. I have the 16mm taller but need the shorter stack cover depicted in the photo.

Question - if I can't locate a Columbus shorter cover can I use a 1 1/8" zero stack Cane Creek cover (or comparable) to seal the upper race before adding spacers/stem, etc.?

You can try. I don't normally mix and match different brands. But Cane Creek 40 headsets are used pretty universally. Can't hurt to try it. just dry fit it a couple times to make sure.
