QR vs Threaded: 15mm/boost axles

I'm looking to buy a threaded axle (Wolf specifically) for my Rock Shox (b/c of looks) any downside vs QR versions?

matter of preference. I assume youre referring to a thru axle for the front?

If youre going to use a QR lever type just make sure you can adjust the position of the handle.

I simply do not understand the appeal of a cam-style thru axle at all.

Slightly easier to take off to put in the car. More confidence it will stay on ?

This is the opposite of my experience. The only cam ones I've used are branded Lysnkey and they are garbage. Fiddly as all hell. The worst.

Quick threading/unthreading and zero problems whatsoever with:

Paragon
DT Swiss
Ritchey

I have the QR type from DT swiss, paragon, and the one that came with my Fox fork.

All three have been great.

DT Swiss is the answer for thru axles, whatever the question is.

As far as a through axle qr, that’s a non existent option since you still have to unthread the “lever release device” just the same as the threaded. Right? Tool vs hand t/a maybe a better description?

I like DT swiss. I have a Fox cam style and a Salsa Cam style on my mountain bike and I really dislike them. The Salsa clicks. And both are annoying to get off the bike because you have to line something up to unthread.

I just got some of the Paragon combo skewers and I like that idea a lot. The truth is that grabbing a hex key isn't going to slow me down that much in the unlikely event of a flat.

Well I guess to be more clear, hopefully, how is a bolt axle as secure as say a Rock Shox Maxle or Paul Set and Forget that has the qr/cam style additional pressure being placed on the fork leg when closed not a far better solution for making sure the axle does not come loose?

It's a solution to a problem that, in my experience, does not exist. And I have never heard from anyone in real life or on the internet about thru axles unthreading.

If a cam-style thru axle gives you some sense of security or piece of mind then have at it. None for me, though.
