Replacing shimano acera 9 speed with sram x9

Asking this question a different way , as I only got one response , will a sram x8 derailleur work with a 9 speed shimano cassette with current day cyclocross rear hub spacing , Specialized Sirrus pro disc is the bike in question 2015 ish similar to the Crux but w 9 speed shimano flat bar shifters .

Most often, Shimano shifters need shimano derailleurs, and Sram shifters need Sram derailleurs, to work well. Mixing usually doesnt work as well.

No. The cassettes/chains are interchangeable. The shifter must match the derailleur for the above listed components.

Sram/Shimano have 2 different cable ratios.
