This one has been more productive than Campy vs Shimano vs SRAM

Someone (Louis) ACTUALLY changed their opinion!

It only took 2000+ posts.

I guess the moral is perseverance pays off.

I tried out for ball-boy earlier this summer, but wasn't able to deflate 12 footballs by exactly 4 psi in less than the required 90 seconds.

The numbers I used above are just random ones picked from thin air, but more seriously, Exponent, the engineering investigation firm that wrote the science portion of the Wells report, showed that it is in fact possible to do what that bb is accused of doing in the time he was alone in the bathroom with the footballs. They were absolutely unequivocal about that.

For more details, see this story:

...Paul, Weiss asked Exponent if it was possible for someone to take a bag of 12 footballs into a bathroom and deflate them, at least a little, in 1 minute 40 seconds. A Patriots ball boy was seen taking balls into the bathroom on the way to the field before the game, and it became the primary theory for how the balls lost their air pressure. Pye found a small office and had several Exponent employees try. Yes, definitely, he told the lawyers in New York.)

Louis.

Love you man, but get the facts straight.

BB was never implicated of anything in Deflategate.

In the end, it was only 1 ball that was under.

The equipment guys were re-instated by the league.

Brady was suspended for not cooperating and smashing his cell phone.

Now we have a whole week to play with this....

Ultimately, deflategate wasn't about the balls or Brady. If it was, Brady would have been playing and there would have been no suspension for the reasons fully discussed thoroughly this thread. Instead, Deflategate was about the authority of Goodell under the NFLPA collective bargaining agreement to impose completely arbitrary and capricious discipline without regard for traditional notions of due process, and the propriety of Goodell presiding over appeals taken from the discipline determinations that he made notwithstanding his obvious bias. What this underscores is that Goodell is hapless, and the NFLPA is the weakest union in all the major pro sports.

Also, F$&@ the Jets.

Not sure I understand this. Goodell's power falls under the collective bargaining agreement. That was voted on by the players. They agreed to it. The union may have bargained it, but the players themselves voted it into power.

They players could have give up something and changed this, but they did not.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but this is how it happened.

He's having a garbage season. The Patriots stink and Brady is the reason they stink.

Actually, the NFL stinks and the Patriots are about the only bright spot.

Thursday football is a dud. Lots of mediocre football is being played. London games are dumb (IMHO).

I think the NFL's long term future is a big question mark. I find myself, a lifelong NFL football fan, not really caring much anymore.
