Build at 98%.
I put on Silca Cushino bar tape, and it's just too thick - and after 1 ride it's already dirty. So I need to get some Fizik tape for it. These tires are mis-matched 22mm tires, because that's what I had on the shelf for black tires. Veloflex 25mm tires are on the way and arrive on Monday. Ride impressions: it feels identical to my C60 (or nearly so after 1 ride), which is what I wanted. I like all of my bikes to handle/feel the same. I am very, very pleased. The only downside to the C59 is that the rear brake housing has to be run continuous thru the top tube - so I consider that a downside because it drive my inner weight-weenie crazy. Also it's so weird that it has an English BB. That just feels wrong emotionally. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Clean (pun) find, and very nice build.
Let me know how this one stacks up against your EP |

the threaded BB is da bomb, though agree "English" - careful on the 25Ms - they can just Nick some paint under the fork and rear brake bridge - no damage, but some people flip over it.
The C59 is the top of Colnago sans tire sizes that are accepted. I love yours as it has a great story. Enjoy and great pickup - glad it's here in Paceline. |

Ya, I was ready for that, but the Veloflex 25's measure out on these wheels at 24.5mm, and the remaining clearance to both bridges looks good.

Finally got a "finished" pic with the Silca bartape removed and some Fizik bartape installed. I gotta tell you - she's a delight.
When you figure lugged carbon Colnago at the best price, the C59 is the best out there that I have ridden. ![]()

Very nice!
How would you say this compares to the F8 you had for a while?

I'm interested in this answer as well, Angry. If I had to guess, based on owning an F8 and two different C60s I would say the C59 is a more balanced smooth ride whereas the F8 has quicker steering and just constantly feels like it wants to go. The C60 is a bit smoother but doesn't feel as punchy as the F8. This about right for the C59 or is it different than the C60 in a big way?
