Show us your 30-deg F kit

My 30deg kit is the 45deg kit that I wore out the door expecting it to warm up and forgetting it gets colder when you climb up misty mountains...
If it's actually 30deg in Portland, I'm taking the options above. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

I don’t really like riding when it’s that cold but when I did I would wear Shimano winter boots with thick wool socks, bibs with leg warmers and Levi’s commuter jeans over them, multiple top layers with a wind blocking jacket, a wool beanie, and nalini manto tex gloves.

Mine would change with the amount of sunlight and wind chill.
With bright sunshine from the top: Lazer cover snapped onto my helmet Independent Fabrication beanie Capilene base layer expedition weight Thermal layer wool Normal jersey Assos windstop vest Arm warmers Normal shorts Assos thermal bib tights Long wool socks Normal shoes My shoe covers are kaput But nowadays, I stop riding below 50°

I should really take a pic, but I'm too lazy today.
30-32F is really an inflection point for me, temperature wise. At this temp, I'm wearing -- A thin newline runner's beanie -- A merino wool neck gaiter stretched over my head so it's kind of like a balaclava -- Pactimo Vertex WX-D Jacket -- Pearl Izumi PRO AmFIB gloves, with fingers (I don't love these, but they're warm enough) -- 200 weight merino base layer -- Full length tights (I have 2, probably the lighter Craft one at this temp) -- Merino socks -- Probably Mavic Crossmax Elite CM's When it gets colder, I'll add: -- Merino balaclava (under the gaiter) -- Maybe a second base layer, like the nordic fishnet one that my son cleverly calls my 'stripper shirt' -- The warmer Morvelo tights -- Either covers over the Mavic shoes, or the 45NRTH ragnaroks. I don't love the Ragnaroks but they are a little (a little) warmer than the Mavics. -- Craft Lobster gloves When it's a little warmer, I'll go with a Castelli Perfetto jersey/jacket instead, maybe a lighter base layer, and maybe 3/4 bibs. This would be similar to my 30 degree kit with a few mods. I usually go with a long sleeve thermal base layer and a Assos Prosline Jacket. Usually just a thin neck gaiter and a Gore skull cap with a windproof front.
This all does depend on wind speed and sunlight. For gloves I use the 45NRTH Sturmfist 4. Have no problems at 30 degrees. Can add more thin baselayer gloves if needed. |

Is it sunny?
For 30 and not sunny I wear... Bontrager balaclava, covers neck and mouth short sleeve UA type base layer long sleeve thermal/roubaix fabric jersey Castelli Espresso Due jacket PI gloves, I think they are meant for running? Roubaix type fabric Huge bulky ski gloves whatever summer shorts ye olde Performance tights, I think they have windproof front panels, almost neoprene but not quite medium heavy wool socks normal summer shoes neoprene shoe covers Generally the gloves get to be too warm. Oh, and this is for a 5-6 hour ride, rarely above tempo, mostly zone 1-2 |

Yeah, posts 3 and 7 got you covered.
Also, shouldn't there be a bike in the first pic? Or is this for going for a walk? |

The gloves are a couple of years old, I'm not sure what generation they are. My Crafts are definitely adequately warm, at least for me, but comparing fingered to lobster isn't quite apples-to-apples. |
