I especially love their MTB hubs- instant engagement.

The sound of the hubs is like Rock’nRoll: it seems to only rankle the old people.

If it is too loud tune down the hearing aid- I like to let em know I am coming.
Couldn't agree more. Hubs should sound like a Wagner Opera or a Megadeth album or something.

Full moon club ride 1999 when few people knew what CK classic hubs were. Two separate MTB bikes doing a lot of angry bird freewheeling in the pack on a dark bike trail. Many befuddled comments made that night.

Those hubs still run like new.

Their service guy hooked me up one time with a hard to find headset part and didn’t charge a thing. Great people for sure.

Hmmn... they were quick to respond when I asked for a geometry chart on a Cielo I had but when I asked about about the paint code I never got a response.

Many years ago now, and perhaps after some years as their headsets never seemed to need any attention, I suddenly realized what was a very different feel of my wrenches on the alloy hexes of the Chris King threaded headsets.

It occurred to me that these reminded me exactly of working on a fine steel headset, not some aluminum parts that flex and yield under the forces of hard wrenching (using open-end and adjustable wrenches).

I've worked on many alloy headsets that showed one sign or another of "softness", but never noticed this on the Chris King headsets.

One C-K headset that was on a bike that I bought used had been adjusted so tightly (owner obviously had only one wrench!) that the bike couldn't be ridden. Bearings felt rough as a cob and so surely ruined. Yet, after loosening and adjusting that headset, it was absolutely indistinguishable from a new one.
