Well now, that's an excellent question.
If he were to start the TDF and tested positive during a stage, that might bear our Sky's contention that he'd done nothing wrong (and that massive doses of salbutamol are fine and within the rules). As it stands, a modification in Sky's 'medical' regime could be interpreted as conceding there was a case to answer.

I'm sorry, I just can't join in the "bully for ASO" comments on this. UCI has a great deal they should be embarrassed about, but I can't help but think that, based on ASO's behavior in the not-so-distant past, that this has less to do with concern over doping and cycling's image and more to do with the ongoing pissing contest between ASO and UCI. I smells to me like ASO is taking another shot at trying to kick UCI to the curb and running cycling the way it wants (and for its own maximum profit).
None of this is to say that Froome is clean (I hope he is but his and Sky's behavior also has a certain aroma about it) or that UCI is all rainbows and unicorns (they should be grateful that FIFA and the IOC Olympic site selection process are there to make them look marginally less corrupt by comparison). But ASO is hardly the beacon of light in the darkness here. |

I agree completely re ASO.
After all, two birds: one stone.

Seriously? This is how cycling has been run for decades. How can you willfully disregard all that evidence and decide it's all good. We've got years upon years of no real winner of the tdf.

This puts Peter’s post from 6/27 that the UCI would clear Froome the next day in perspective. The UCI said they received the information from WADA on the 28th. Thank you Peter for your information.

Think of the upside- we will have many people in the mountains motivated to run alongside froome with carrying a large syringe.

July 1st or April 1st? I am confused.
Cycling is a soap opera that kills off characters and brings them back. I bet Diego Ulissi is having a good day after reading about Froomes exhoneration. In other news, sky just released the jersey logo for their new sponsor.

See that? Suspense in Le Tour already, and it's still 5 days away. Pro Cycling is so entertaining. Genius.
