Perfectly summed up my thoughts as well.

I am puzzled by the lack of resolution in this case. They obviously don't want to disqualify froome, but they know they have disqualified other riders for the same thing. Having him in this indeterminate status is not helping anything. Are they hoping to catch him at something else? Makes no sense.

Agree. I turned on the computer this am, and the #1 headline from MSN is " Report: 4 Time Winner Banned from Tour de France". Not good for business.

Good for ASO.

If the UCI wants him racing finish up his case and clear him.

I like that the ASO can provide a sanity check here.

This whole thing of a forbidden amount of a drug allowed with a TUE being treated differently than any amount of a forbidden drug needs to be cleared up.

From Cycling News:

Under UCI regulations, Froome is allowed to continue racing pending a resolution of his salbutamol case. However, ASO sent Team Sky an email in which they make it clear that Froome is not welcome at the Tour.
"The Tour de France wants at all costs to avoid being in the same situation as the recent Giro d’Italia, where the final victory of Froome is now marked with an asterisk," reportLe Monde.

Love to see him sitting on the sidelines with his inhaler watching the race.

Even if he does race and win do you really think the Badger will let him step on the podium?

I'm not sure I really want to see him on the sidelines, but his dominance has always been ... what's the word? ... unbelievable. Not quite as unbelievable as losing 17 minutes on one day and making it up the next, but there is something a little off. And he did come back from an insurmountable deficit to win the Giro. At least it would have been insurmountable for anyone else.

Agreed. It isn't as flagrant as it was - like Landis's miracle comeback, or Vino's TT of a life time at the Tour. The margins are smaller, perhaps to support the illusion that it isn't doping fueled, but the consistency is remarkable, and IMO impossible with out chemical support.

Beyond Froome, the similarities between Sky and Postal/Discovery/Astana are incredible. Sky have built this facade of "marginal gains" and perceived transparency to give them plausible deniability, which folks bought at first, but I most now realize is BS.

News just broke (real?) that Froome has been banned by TdF organizers.

It’s a huge deal if true.
