"gusts of up to 10 kilometres an hour predicted" Really? Six mile an hour? I presume its a typo and should have been 100 kmh.

60mph is no joke. I tried to ride 200km on a day with 50mph wind gusts and over 30mph steady wind.

With stops along the route.

Reminds me of a ride up a whopping 3.5% grade into a 20+ stead direct headwind here a few years back. Felt like a 15% grade, and then a 40MPH gust hit me and stopped me dead. And I flew puddle jumpers and loved the challenges of windy and cross wind practice landing. I think my wind speed estimate stand a good chance of not being too exaggerated.

Had it not been directly head on, it surely would have blew me over. I hoped off after a brief track stand and turned to walk off to the right and the back of the bike flagged 90^ instantly.

My old motocross days pay off in skills still [we won't talk about the broken bone barometers]
