Pretty OT: Used cameras?

I'm looking for a used camera, specifically an Olympus/OM Systems body. OM-1 or maybe the older M-1 Mark iii.

Where do you guys go to look for a used camera? I'm on Fred Miranda, looking at the Ebay Oly Outlet, and MPB. Other ideas? Places you've used?
I looked on Craigslist, and actually found one, but the pictures I got were pretty fuzzy and seems to me like it had been dropped (nice nick in a place that probably shouldn't get nicked).

The OM-1 was an interesting camera ( had 2 of them), as was the OM-29I had one). But they have been outdated nowadays. Those cameras are aging and often don't work as they did originally, accessories like flashes are difficult to come by...if they are in good working order. You are better off getting a newer digital camera.

KEH, B&H, Adorama, or FredMiranda. Or Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for a local transaction.

Fred Miranda has always been a great source for me over the years. KEH was great too but I think someone bought them out years ago so not sure how accurate their grading system is anymore. Years past they were an awesome source.

B&H Photo and Adorama used to have good used inventory also.

Good luck with your hunt, Oly's are good cameras.

The OM-1 is a digital camera. New, with a "mark ii" version. I'm not thinking about the film version. Heck. I've got a nice OM-4 I could let you have.

In the past, I found a good deal on a refurbished camera on Amazon. While they didn't have the Olympus model I was looking for, they did have a few refurbished options from trusted camera brands. Just be sure to carefully read the item description and check reviews of the seller to evaluate quality and condition, since these can vary.

I was a moderator there for a long time, and the WTB and WTS forums were part of my purview. Unless things have changed you have to be a paying member to post in the WTB and WTS forums, but it's a relatively nominal cost.

I have a pristine OM-1 with a couple lenses that I could part with. Also, I live in Bethesda, so not to far from you. Send me a PM if interested.

(Never mind if you are looking for the digital version - mine takes film...I had no idea there was a digital version with the same name....)

Joe

I simply HATE that they changed the name of the camera company from Olympus to "OM System".

I've had very good experiences with KEH. MAP Camera (Tokyo) is also highly reputable and usually very competitive and shipping is very fast.

Probably not the cheapest option, but I do a lot of business with B&H on the Video side in NYC and they do have a used section. I'd likely start there, and the staff is top notch. Kind of like a good LBS for photo and video folks.
