Has anyone else had the experience that the Spurcycle bell is almost too loud? I get a lot of startled jumps from hikers that I don't get from my quieter, deader, generic bell. On the other hand, it manages to get the attention of the headphones-on-the-trail-crowd, so that's nice.

How easy are these to move from one bike to another?

Pretty easy. One bolt and the little band is way less finicky than other brands

I received my bells yesterday. They look perfect. And they sound nice, too.

The bell is loud and somewhat piercing. I ring mine further back to avoid that sharpness of sound.

But not sure you can have too loud a bell, within reason. The reverse is what I’ve found (heard) too soft of a sound.

What I’ve seen is people who are startled are typically lost in their own world, as they should be out on a trail or bike path. I believe most would be startled by any sound.

Spurcycles are loud, but given the alternative, not too loud. Trail etiquette is to warn those ahead, politely. I believe this bell does this better than any other.

I ring my bell from further back a couple of times to try and get people’s attention before I am that close. I have startled people before with my spurcycle bell, but I find they are the same people I startle with “on your left” or “behind”.

Mine arrived and I think I know why it was a second. Its pitch is a half step higher than the spurcycle bell. Actually, come to think of it, that was also a second. What pitch is it supposed to be?
Everybody download a guitar tuner app or something and post your results.

I notice that the pitch seems higher on the black bells compared to the raw ones.

Spur is good people- I emailed them about the disintegrated rubber foot on my Kickstarter bell and they just gave me a code for a replacement for free, cool! so I ordered another black little bell to make it worth their trouble.

I only have a decent ear but I have one of each and to me they are the same pitch.
