Mercury Wheels - Out of Business Need Parts!
Hey gang - I purchased a set of Mercury A50's (Shimano set up) last fall at the recommendation of a friend. They've been great, but now planning to go SRAM wireless on my Cervelo. I went to Mercury website to source an XDR driver and discover they're out of business as of February 23, 2023!
Any wheel buffs out there have any insight as to what XDR driver would work with their hubs??? I'm in a bit of a quandary. I'd hate to be stuck with an obsolete/narrow use wheel set. Your insight would be appreciated. GP |

Maybe email Competitive Cyclist--they seem to have been the biggest dealer of Mercury wheels.

I have a set of Mercury branded wheels that are Novatec hubs. They're older, though, so don't know if Mercury went with a different manufacturer in the interim.

The hub model is the "Legion". Does not appear that they are Novatec, and I can't confirm with Competitive Cyclist the manufacturer. Possibly WI, but not certain. I was sent a link by CC to an Ebay listing for the compatible driver, but it's a take off and does not indicate manufacturer.

You might give bikehubstore.com a try. They have been very helpful for me in the past.

There is a link on Mercury's website for Legion hubs - they were made by KT - Reynolds wheels used to use them on their cheaper wheels.

From their website
THANK YOU We are eternally grateful for the love and support our friends and clients have shown us. These past few years have been hard on us personally, not just because of world events or changes to the bike community, but we also found ourselves battling a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. To that end we closed our doors officially on February 17, 2023. For future support, please reach out to your local bike shop. Thank you for joining us on this ride and for your support, compassion and understanding. Cheers, The entire Mercury family Wishing all the best for the family. Tough diagnosis. |
