Daccordi 50th Anniversary

I wanted this frame ever since I saw pics of one...
Dat paint!
Oh chrome!

Last year, I found my own on the Brooklyn CraigsList. Now, she's my favorite ride.

I've actually got the correct matching stem for her, but I built this with my lightest bits for centuries/climbing.

Props to 55/Rad for the cable treatment inspiration.

PS. In the very near future (as soon as I get my wheelbuilding ass in gear) I will have a new set of wheels for this baby. Polished H+Son Archetypes with DT Aerospokes and WI T11 polished hubs.

Daccordi's are fabulous. I visited the factory near Pisa and was impressed with Luigi. They are a sweet, sweet ride. Among the very best steel frames.

Truth be told, we're planing a stitched bar wrap on that baby as soon as we can snipe a bright red Michael Jackson jacket to cut them from.

The jacket need not have actually been worn by the King of Pop himself. I'll gladly cut up something with less provenance.

I built up some new wheels for the Daccordi which warranted a few new photos before I take her down to the mountains for a few hundred miles of riding.

Stunning. Beautiful bike. Almost makes me wish I was still married - so I would still have mine. I really do miss it.

Thanks folks.
I just got back from a great cycling vacation with this bike. I was so pleased with how it did and measure part of my joy by this realization...

The first ride of the vacation was a century with 599 other riders in the mountains near Blacksburg, VA. Over the entire ride, and even after the grueling climb to Mountain Lake, I discovered that I never wished to be riding any bike I saw more than the one I was riding at the time.
