A nostalgic look back at greatness

I recently found this YouTube visit to the Serotta factory. For us ‘oldtimers’ It’s a look back at greatness. For the newbies it’s a good visual explanation of what made Serotta great and engendered such a strong following.

Hey Dave, I'll ride your old Legend this weekend in your honor. It still is a great bike!

Thanks. In retrospect I regret selling that Serotta and the many other Serottas I’ve had through the last 20 years. Like the old song lyric: “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘till it’s gone”.

I think someday Serotta will be universally thought of as the paragon of modern classic bikes and an innovator of the future.

Ride on Bradford!

It's generally believed that...

Yeah, they were coming out with $8,000.00 bike frames at a time when the headlines were all about our Great Recession. Bad timing, for sure.

I ended up buying a 911 for $.60 on the dollar during that time period. I worked in a recession proof industry.

IMHO it didn't help but that wasn't the core reason.

The serotta paint program they had on their website is a lost treasure for day dreaming about custom frame color schemes.

Thanks for posting.

At the end, it was all a lie.

Brian Case promised money up front that he couldn't deliver on the back end.

And a great company went Tango Uniform.
