Would you ride this?
Used Sunday to tick off a few cycling chores, including gluing tubulars. This morning I inflated this one to full pressure and noticed a small tear in the stitching. Sidewall bulges out slightly but not really noticeable when spinning the wheel. I’m afraid I know the answer but…would you ride it?

It’s done. The outer casing is rotting and the base tape is separating. I would have confidence in that tire for no more than the ride home.
Hate to confirm your suspicions. I normally am willing to push the limits but I’d say that tire is better off in the dumpster. |

From what I know , Its a carbon wheel and brake track.
Guessing a bora? Guessing attached to a nice Grouppo? Guessing that its attached to a nice frame/fork" Guessing a nice shifter and bar or barstem conbo? I'm thinking a new tire is a lot cheaper that the cost of replacing any bike or body part that may be replaced due to making a turn on tire that a blew out. Just My 2 cents. Ride safe, BamBam |

Looks likely the stitching under the tape is pulling thru the rotting casing, toss it!

That tubular is done. But seen guys riding stuff that is worse tho, use it till it explodes, just be sure to have a spare with you.

You neglected to mention my substantial investment in the mastik and brush to mount that puppy. Kidding aside, thanks all for confirming my suspicion. |

Everytime you rolled over that spot you would feel it
Now that you have a tear pull the tube out, I used to look at the tube |
