Current Mid-Reach Single Speed Frames

I'm aware of the State 4130, Riv Roaduno, and the Milwaukee (not sure if still possible given Waterford's closing), but curious if there are other options out there with the following specs.
  • 120/100 spacing
  • track ends
  • mid-reach caliper drilling
  • threadless
  • road not track geo (73/73 angles, ~70mm bb drop)

I'm sure you can find a new Surly Steamroller somewhere. Also maybe the Pake Rum Runner. Not 100% sure on brake reach but people seem to be fitting them with 35s.

Edit: nvm the Rum Runner has a 58mm bb drop.

Wabi Classic is close. It's designed around a 50 or 51mm brake reach but still clears a 32. Ticks all the other boxes, although 62mm BB drop

A Surly Steamroller will clear 38mm.

Marinoni Voltare

https://www.marinonicycles.com/html/voltare.html $1225 Standard, $1375 Custom

I made a visit for measurements and ended up with something custom with similarity to their Piuma model using Columbus Spirit rather than Columbus Life tubing for a few dollars more.

They are easily overlooked, but an exceptional ride and value.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. Interested in 49-59mm reach brakes specifically.

The Surly Steamroller is discontinued.
There aren't many "road" fixed gear frames available. I'm guessing you want something like a Soma van Ness.

Marinoni likely would make one for you.

The Rum Runner has steep angles, and so does the Soma Rush , which also has a 1" quill. I still wonder why they didn't keep a threadless design.

I didnt look at Retrogression or Bluelug. Maybe they have something, but my guess is that they don't.

I think that pretty much covers it.

Only other idea I can think of is just converting old 27” wheeled frames.

Looks like the Dolan FXE is also an option, though limited tire clearance.

What size frame are you looking to get?

Old track framesets like Panasonic track 2000, Centurion etc will fit the bill.

Big frame. 63cm. ~625 stack and ~405 reach. Looking for a friend.

I cannot imagine any track frame fitting the bill, even vintage ones. Looking for 700x35 but not much bigger (don't want canti posts).

I suspected there wasn't anything else out there but wanted to shake the trees. I guess there's just not a market for it. Someone would have to offer me a king's ransom to part with my early oughts Street Dog.

I am unaware of anything in that size that has typical road geometry, 120mm spacing, track ends, and can fit that large of a tire.

For singlespeed bikes, I always have one built up and usually change it out every couple years or so- they are always 70s and 80s road frames with horizontal dropouts.
Bikes like the Specialized Sequoia with caliper brakes, some older Treks from the 70s or early 80s, some Schwinns from the 70s and early 80s, as well as Gitane/Peugeot/Raleigh/Motobecane etc all had frames with caliper brakes and road geometry that could fit a 35mm tire.
...but the dropouts are horizontal and the spacing is 126mm.

ETA- I realized the Pink Schwinn could only handle a 32mm Panaracer GK slick.

Kind of sounds more like what's within the tracklocross scene these days.

Few different color options but can clear at least 38c, 120mm rear
https://www.statebicycle.com/collect...r-single-speed

Squid SO-ez is also another great option, but 135mm hub

Other than the 60mm BB drop and 135mm rear (so excludes a LOT of hubs and cranks). Still, that SO-EZ is pretty awesome!

I listed the State in the OP. Killer value, but it's obviously not designed with drop bars as a valid possibility. The SO-EZ geo is better for that even though I've not seen one amongst the many in the gallery. Makes sense, though, for it's intended use.

The squid definitely knocks most track cranks out of the running, but does allow many road cranks.

The hubs the bigger issue IMO, because it forces you into what's a very limited set of options. HOWEVER, if your friends not the type to want to swap parts or has multiple bikes to swap parts between I really can't say enough good things about the frame. Several friends have the SO-ez and are extremely happy with it.
