Also have a set of Ardennes Black with turbine brake track. My favorite alloy wheelset and no wear. Hubs are super smooth.
When I used them with SRAM aerolink brake calipers, was using Kool Stop pads. Now running Record 11 calipers and using standard Campagnolo pads. Both work fine. |

I am using standard Shimano pads and they work great.

I have Mavic R Sys on my Look 695 and Boyd's Altamont Lite Ceramics (I-9 hubs) on my Otrott, both with lot's of miles (not sure how many) with no problems and no fading...
I've had a number of black brake track Mavics, R-Sys and Ksyriums with no issues...I've read the criticisms over the years about Mavics but I've never had any issues aside from brake pad squeaking while they were breaking in... I am considering a set of AForce AL33's or a set Mavic Ksyrium Pro Carbon SL UST's (I know, they're carbons!) btw, the Boyds are mounted tubeless (with Schwalbe Ones/ Orange Seal) , again, no problems..great combo! |

See pics below of my Al33 Ceramics (excuse the dirty bike). I purchased them secondhand on here and have put on 2,500 miles since through most types of conditions (dry, wet, light gravel). The purpleish color comes from the manufacturer recommended Swissstop BXP pads, which wear down really quick (especially fronts).
