Full frame pumps

What do you all like for full frame pumps these days? This is something I find I need now, but have never looked into.

Oops, wrong forum, but I guess if someone has one to sell I'd be interested.

Most good comments I see on frame pumps are for the Zefal HPX. They come in different lengths with 1 being shortest and 4 being the longest. I have one I have had for a long time and it still works very well. I have a brand new one, a 3, which is a bit too long for the bike it is intended for. I paid $35, but shipping it likely makes it cost prohibitive. The best price I saw was on Amazon.

I just bought a Silca Impero for ~125 from wiggle. Really great pump. I haven’t had need to use it but the construction is excellent and i love the feel of the action and how stable it is in my frame.

I did my own little shootout in the garage and the Zefal HPX won.

It gives a solid feeling while pumping and it will pump up a fat tire with fewer strokes than a mini, it goes on my spectrum that comes with a pump peg, I have one with just the right length to go with the top tube so with the spring action, it's a good solid fit when it's mounted on, no need for strap or Velcro to keep it in place, no rattling while riding, confident enough to even use it on gravel rides, zero issue.

My only "complaint" - I have to remove it every time I mount it on my bike rack on the top tube but that has nothing to do with the pump itself.

Good article:

I have a Topeak Master Blaster and 2 Zefal HPX. I like the Master Blaster, but IME, the Zefal is more efficient in getting the tire up to proper psi. Just the feel of them gives me the impression that the Zefal is much more sturdy. One of mine is probably 25 years old, at least close to it, and it still operates like it did the first day. Granted, it has not been used that much as I do not get that many flats, and usually do not patch on the side of the road.

Does your HPX rattle like the article posted above suggests?

Zefal HPX.

The rubber mounting ears on mine just crapped out a couple months ago. Since replacement Zefals appear to be hard to find new-retail, I turned to eBay and scored. Now I'm good for another 20 years.

In my experience the Toppeak Master Blaster worked better as an actual pump than the Silca pump, which costs more than 4x. The Silca pump sure looks nice, though.

Recently I had heard the Master Blaster was discontinued, or had become hard to find at least. I still see a few listed for sale online, though.

I have a Silca impero that I’ve use on several long tours. No complaints. I have had to replace the rubber chuck insert, easily sourceable from Silca.

Outside of touring I’ve used a strap to secure it to the frame, it doesn’t rattle with a strap. Haven’t had the courage to use without a strap (more paranoia than lack of attachment security/tension).

I’ll also add the Master Blaster to this. Have one of each and all work great and have been in rotation for many years.

None of my pumps rattle when on the bike. I have 2 beneath the top tube, HPX and MB, and an HPX with a cage mount. I use straps with blocks, like Zefal sells on the top tube, and another strap at the top of the HPX that uses the cage mount. the Zefals are both black on black, some dark grey on one bike, and blend in quite well. The MB is grey/silver and on a bike that is orange with 6600 ice grey components and mostly black contact other parts. IMO, it blends in well with the components, very visible on the bike, but not to distraction.

I have the Zefal and the Silca. I’d describe them as a tractor and a Bentley, respectively. Guessing the Topeak is a Honda?
