Ibex is BACK! Or are they?

Found this website through a Facebook ad that seems to indicate they are back in business. Anybody know anything about this?

https://ibex.com/

There's some nice looking clothing there, but there's not one item there I would call cycling specific. Certainly nothing with rear pockets or with a pad like the my old cycling knickers that I treasure. There's some casual use technical looking stuff, but also a lot of just plain casual wear clothing. Is this the original owners? Or has the branding just been sold and "Banana Republic-a-fied?"

Been back for awhile.

I forget the backstory but I would just say even the original Ibex pre-close was not exactly the same as the original Ibex of the 2010 era. The shak of 2010 era is like armor compared to shak's I purchased in the later years. Similar to what I found with Smartwool that the fabirc used got a little softer and less durable.

Every brand gets diluted in some way over time. The new Ibex is fine and I have bought a few pieces but I probably lean more towards Icebreaker these days whereas a decade ago I leaned into Ibex far more heavily.

It would be great if they get back into cycling gear. But the website looks very slick–maybe a bit too slick. If the original owners came back and have decided to start out with a catalog that has broader appeal, I could totally understand that after they went under the first time.

But I'm really wondering if somebody just bought the brand. I'll watch and see if more bike stuff gets added, but for now I don't really need another hoodie or any "tranquil jogger" pants.

I have two Ibex items both of which I really like. The liner gloves (yikes, still there and $50!) and the beanie. Not there anymore - sad face. Will have to find another version when this one wears out. I probably wear it 150 days a year!

I have a nicely collection of Ibex gear, both cycling specific and general wear.
One of my favorite brands.
They resumed business over a year ago.
I happily signed up for updates via email when they were relaunching the business.
Then the email started coming daily.
I tried to change settings to get them less frequently, to no avail.
I even emailed customer service and asked them to cut back on the email barrage.
They said take it or leave it. No in between.
So I unsubscribed and left it.
Haven’t looked since.

Ibex garments in my collection are the "older back-in-the-day" cycling kit.
Superb craftsmanship, quality materials, comfortable, and wear like iron.

Unsure why firms seek to cut corners to chase profitability as technique rarely works.
For example, SmartWool has lost me forever as a sock customer. Pure junk now.

Paradoxically, when firms manufacturer truly great stuff I purchase MORE as a hedge.
Should the Ibex management team offer kit like those fantastic knickers, my credit card will be out in a flash!

I've got a pair of knickers I bought used here, unfortunately starting to show some wear at this point.

I've also got a long sleeve Fast Boy Cycles jersey which I love and is in pristine condition. Makes me miss my friend Ezra every time i think of it and the embroidered heart on the sleeve.

I have 3 Ibex wool jackets, two from the "old" comapny and a Shak I recently picked up. Sadly the Shak replaced a 10 year old Shak that somebody borrowed (without asking) and didn't bring back.

Got my first piece of ibex clothing as a kid, an excellent hand-me down jacket. Wore it till there were holes in both elbows, and now I've got two jerseys and plenty of layers! Their old stuff was so excellent, but I'm not sure I'm ready to take the dive into the new brand. Was so sad to see them go.

I'm one of those weirdos that wears merino as a base layer. I also like full, winter weight merino long sleeve jerserys too.

I still have an Ibex base layer and LS jersey that I regularly wear. Great stuff. Maybe a few moth holes, but I don't care.

They never could get it right on the chamois. I toured in the stuff for years and never really liked it.

I've owned piles of the stuff and still have plenty on non-cycling stuff.

It was never durable enough except original Shak.

Oh well.

Amen, got a pair right before they quit producing and they are wearing thin but just the best. Perfect length, perfect warmth, good chamois. I say they are not back until s the knickers are back.

Been tempted by their glove liners that just released, it I just don’t need antihero pair of gloves at the moment.

Now PE owned; quality is nothing like the original. Steer clear.

I wish they would re make the Coppi cap. I think I had two of those. One developed a hole and got tossed the second is MIA. Also had two pairs of the knickers. Still using those to this day. Icebreaker did a bib and jersey too for a short time. Super bulky pad but quality was good.
