If you're not being a perfectionist, I'd say it should be pretty easy to get most of it polished nicely. It'll be a little tricky around the mounting bracket, but the rest should be quick and easy.

All you need is a microfiber cloth and maybe half an hour of work I’d estimate for a couple cages.

What he said. Cloth and simichrome should do the trick. I’ve polished stems that way after removing anodizing. I imagine the SS cages would polish up nicely.

it appears these have a brushed finish? If so, start with wet/dry sandpaper maybe 500 grit to sand away the brushed finish. Then you can move to 1000, 2000 and 5000. Plan on sanding in parallel directions as you move from one grade to the next. This approach will make it easier to see if you've removed the sanding 'scratches' from the last grit. When it all looks good, finish will Mother's billet or simichrome. Since these are small it shouldn't take to long.

Alternatively, you can try the dremel and metal polish but stainless is quite hard so it may be challenging to get to a mirror finish without wet sanding.

This Ti Seven began with a brushed finish...now its mirror polished! Just go easy on any welds.

Am I reading that right? About $50 for one polished cage?

I would think a wet sand with 1000-2000 grit paper would do the same thing. Maybe followed by 90 seconds on a loose pad on the buffer, if it was that important.

I've had very good luck polishing things using Flitz, and Eagle One Nevr-dul wadding. I'll start with the wadding and finish up with the Flitz. If i need to smooth texture or remove scratches I'll use a fine Schotchbrite pad first.

simichrome uses a chemical reaction and it doesn't appear to work on steels.

I just bought some polishing buffs for my dremel and some diamond paste off of amazon. Haven't tried them yet. Diamond paste is really cheap, even from McMaster carr. I don't think King cages are brushed finish, looks like a fine media blast to me. When I polish stainless tubing for racks, I put it in the lathe and use sandpaper.

It's a lot easier to polish tubing before it gets bent into a shape like that.
